Sunderland manager Roy Keane (right) says things aren’t like they used to be: these days, guys actually listen to their wives. The former Man U star is just a tad bitter that some of his summer-signing hopefuls turned his team down due to the club’s non-metropolitan location.
“Their priorities are not the same as mine. We will do the best for our players' families, but we've had a player this summer who didn't even ring us back because his wife wanted to move to London. And shopping was mentioned. It might astonish many people, but it's true,” he said.Damn prima donnas.
Who wouldn’t want to live out in the empty countryside, with nothing but sheep and bad accents to keep you company?
And this is a happy Keane. The guy who onced called the “prawn sandwich brigade” has his team undefeated with a last-gasp win over Tottenham in the Premiership opener.
Just wait and see what kind of good stuff we get when they start playing like the flawed team they are.
I think it's weak. You see it with a couple of big players now. Clearly their wives and girlfriends are running their lives and that's a bad sign.Classic.
