Both Clint Dempsey and DaMarcus Beasley have seen recent success overseas. Thanks to our friends at 101 Great Goals you can see Deuce's strike against Wigan and DMB's fine finish against Hearts.
One is 25, the other 24, but both can't be farther apart on the international level.
Beasley is almost becoming a has-been for the USMNT. Much like Landon Donovan, his partner in crime at the youth level, the crafty winger seems to have peaked already on the national scene.
Expectations for success were once so high for DMB, but now he owns the left flank because no one else can.
For Dempsey on the other hand, the sky is the limit.Ever since he had the only American goal at the '06 World Cup, he has progressed and become a reliable goalscorer for a country desperately needing one.
He is just finding his potential, and both Fulham F.C. and American soccer fans are anxious to see where it takes him.
I dunno, maybe I have this completely wrong.
Thoughts?
