Dean Ashton leads a cruel life

Three Lions fans have been praying for a quality forward for years.

For Ashton, this was going to be the year. Focused to impress the national team's new coach, nothing it seemed could hold the 24-year-old back.

He even gave up his favorite food -- pizza -- in an effort to be in the best shape possible, after English coach Fabio Capello told him to lose some weight.

Along comes the Premiership league opener. Ashton is in fine form with two goals in the first ten minutes of the game.

It's a dream beginning and -- lucky him! -- Capello is in the stands.

But in the 73rd minute Ashton goes down, injuring himself on a free kick attempt. The scans show no damage, but there's no scan for embarrassment.

Capello can only look at you and laugh now.

So go have a slice of pizza Dean. It'll make things better.
