MLS Destiny!

That was supposed to be a play on Manifest Destiny. You know, with the expansion and all?

MLS Rumors got the hot tip on which two cities are looking to be added by 2011:

My sources are adamant that the expansion teams have already been determined. Atlanta missed out. No word on Portland. What I have been able to learn is that both cities chosen have USL1 franchises and that the existing USL clubs...In other words, it's two from Vancouver, Portland and Montreal. Sorry, St. Louis and Ottawa.

Intriguing. I'd love to see Portland and Vancouver, being a Seattle boy. Continue the nice little Cascadia Cup rivalry.

• Portland has the stadium. And the fans.
  
• Vancouver has some star power (Steve Nash).
  
• Montreal is all East Coast, and leagues love that.
