U.S. women win gold!

What an upset!

I didn't even give the U.S. a chance. I thought they looked too slow and didn't have enough offense or creativity to stand a chance against Brazil.

While it may have been lacking throughout the game, there was certain enough creative firepower in the goal scored. What a confident strike by Carli Lloyd.

In net, Hope Solo (right) proved to everyone she was right -- which we knew she was. But save after save proved herself superior to anyone's expectations.

Redemption had to feel pretty good for the local girl.

Brazil has finished runner-up in the last three major tournaments. Sad. Hence the brooding in the all the pics.

Wahl thinks it could be the greatest win in U.S. history.

Without the wonder forward Abby Wambach, I can see that. Well done ladies.

(p.s. I hear Natasha Kai took off her shirt...)
