Refs were the story this past weekend in football (American and Euro). In the Chelsea v. Manchester City match, referee Mark Halsey (left) unfairly gave defender John Terry a red card. His team appealed and Halsey's next assignment is now three divisions lower than the Premiership!
Ouch, that's a heckuva demotion.
(Though league rival Manchester United thinks the refs unfairly favor Chelsea, but that's beside the point)
Anyways, over stateside, Ed Hochuli (right) had a similarly bad day officiating. His horrible call might've cost San Diego the game and he's come under heavy scrutiny as well.
Maybe Hochuli should be banished to ref Mount St. Joseph College in Division III football. It only seems fair.
Clearly the English value their football more than us Yanks value ours...

It's ignorant messages like this one that stop people from wanting to be referees. Thank you for contributing to an existing problem.
You are part of the problem, not the solution.
If you are looking for perfection you are never going to get it in anything, so be satisfied with the best you are going to get, and these referees are among the best in their respective fields.

This guy seems to disagree with you on the Terry Red Card decision.
