Red Bulls sign JPA extension

One of the best forwards in the league is staying put.

Colombian Juan Pablo Angel will be under contract with New York and terrorizing MLS defenses for the next couple seasons.
“I don’t see retirement any time soon, I did the contract for peace of mind,” Ángel said during a telephone conference call. “I have a strong desire to wake up every morning and work with the team. What happened last year was vital and phenomenal for the team. I want to be here and I want to be here when Red Bull Arena opens.”
Well, I hope he's happy, because he's going to open up the 2009 season with a loss, courtesy of the Sounders FC on March 19th. Sucka!

Though I am glad to see him stay in the league, he's a heckuva scoring talent.
