Portland and Vancouver in better shape for MLS bids?

The Vancouver evidence: Two sources requesting anonymity said this week that Greg Kerfoot, the reclusive Vancouver businessman and owner of the Whitecaps, was negotiating the final details of an agreement with MLS commissioner Don Garber.

The Portland evidence: Apparently there is a deal between Timbers ownership and city officials in place to turn PGE Park into a soccer-specific stadium.

Of course, all Seattle fans are hoping both teams get the bids. Northwest rivals are crucial, plus I'm sure the league would love to make road trips up here worthwhile.

And you'd have to think an announcement is coming soon, so the cities can make all the preparations to start catching up with the Sounders FC and such...
