What more is there to say?

Goff found some Twitter updates from the boys:
CharlieDavies10: "We did it!!!!! Made it out of a group with Brazil Italy and Egypt. Anything is possible! Thanks for all the support!!!"
JozyAltidore17: "That one was for the fans we owe it you guys!!!!!!"
FreddyAdu11: "absolutely amazing. anything is possible. wow!"
    SachaKljestan: "Unbelievable!!!"
Though I think it was Johnny Bornstein that had the quote o' the day:
It’s like that quote from Dumb and Dumber: ‘So you’re telling me there is a chance.’ That’s what we kept saying.
Some of my musings:
  • Sunday was the most fun I've had as a USMNT fan since 2002.
  • Suck it Giuseppe Rossi. Hope it's a long flight home.
  • Dempsey ended his 9-month spell of invisibility with a goal to remeber.
  • Nice to see Charlie Davies get some time and make the most of it.
  • Contributions from all sides in this one (Gooch, DeMerit, Spector, Bradley).
  • The USMNT showed great grit bouncing back from the non-call handball that prevented a potential 2-0 lead early in the second half.
  • That certainly didn't look like the Egypt team of the first two games.
  • And this result doesn't completely abstain the U.S. of two stinkers either.
  • The best U.S. player of the tournament? Landon Donovan. Hands down.
  • Bring it Spain!
What a day for the avid soccer fan...
