Sounders FC advance to U.S. Open Cup final

Nate Jaqua took a vicious elbow to the head early in the first half of Tuesday night's U.S. Open Cup semifinal against the Houston Dynamo.

Bloodied and battered -- sporting a bandage wrapped around his head -- Jaqua fired back against his former team at the perfect time.

The 89th minute.

A last-gasp equalizer for the Sounders FC, canceled out an early goal by Ade Akinbiyi, and pushed the game to overtime, where Seattle midfielder Stephen King scored the winner in the 2-1 victory.

The Sounders FC outshot the Dynamo 26-7, pretty impressive.

That's also the second come-from-behind win for Seattle against Houston in about 10 days. This one was quite physical, featuring nine cards and an ejection.

The victors travel to the nation's capital in September for the title game against defending-champion D.C. United, 2-1 winners against the Rochester Ragin' Rhinos of the USL First Division.

Should be awesome.
