Sounders FC advances to U.S. Open Cup semis

Got to enjoy Seattle's 1-0 win against Kansas City in the stands this time.

The ECS were in full volume, Starfire was packed and the Sounders FC escaped with a last-gasp win, courtesy of a Sebastien Le Toux penalty kick in the 89th minute (via the foul pictured above).

Seattle was clearly the better team all night, with Steve Zakuani and Sanna Nyassi dangerous on the wings and the Patrick Ianni/Jhon Kennedy Hurtado combination in control in the back.

Zakuani, on one play, juked a Wizards defender so bad on a 1-on-1 move that the poor K.C. fellow tripped over his own feet and fell in humiliating fashion to the turf.

Loved it.

Up next: Houston Dynamo in two weeks at Starfire. Hopefully I'll be there.

Other scores
D.C. United 2-1 Harrisburg City Islanders
Rochester Rhinos 2-1 Wilmington Hammerheads
Houston Dynamo 4-0 Charleston Battery
