D.C. United's anti-Seattle letter

I first saw this fun story over at Jose's blog.

Turns out D.C. United is putting on the full-court press to get its fans fired up for the U.S. Open Cup final in the nation's capital later this year.
The Sounders, and its fans, have said that Washington, D.C. and its fans do not deserve to host the match at RFK. They insisted the match should be played in Seattle.

For 14 seasons, our fans have been the standard by which other fans in Major League Soccer are measured.
Coming from the team that had just 8,000 fans at last year's final.

The team took out full-page ads in the local newspapers in a move that definitely helps build up the game.

Not sure that this is the start to a sustainable rivalry though...
