EPL roundup: week 1

What a refreshing treat to see soccer at its finest once again. One look at the highlights and you know you're watching the best.

Also, no ties all weekend made for exciting results. Not to mention some world-class goals (Tottenham's Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Didier Drogba of Chelsea, among others).

Arsenal was clearly the team of the week, embarrassing a decent Everton side 6-1 away. The Hotspurs and Wigan also had particularly great results.

Six of the eight wins on Saturday were by the away sides.

Here are the scores with attendances (yes, the Sounders FC draw better than half the EPL venues this weekend), then some videos:

Manchester United 1-0 Birmingham (A: 75,062)
Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool (A: 35,935)

Chelsea 2-1 Hull City (A: 41,597)
Portsmouth 0-1 Fulham (A: 17,510)
Wolves 0-2 West Ham (A: 28,674)
Blackburn 0-2 Manchester City (A: 29,584)
Bolton 0-1 Sunderland (A: 22,247)
Aston Villa 0-2 Wigan (A: 35,578)
Stoke City 2-0 Burnley (A: 27,385)
Everton 1-6 Arsenal (A: 39,309)
