1. Ronaldo scores in La Liga opener
In wasn't the prettiest season debut for the new-look Real Madrid. But it was a winning one. Cristiano Ronaldo converted a first-half penalty kick for Los Blancos, but in the end they needed a second-half winner from Lassana Diarra to get the 3-2 win against Deportiva La Coruña.

2. Inter pounds Milan, 4-0
What an exciting match-up, the game of all games in the Serie A season. Inter Milan v. AC Milan so early in the year. And what a beatdown for the visitors. Shows Leonardo what's gonna happen when you bench Oguchi Onyewu.

3. Robben nets brace in Bayern debut
What a welcome sight the Dutchman must have been for the suffering Munich fans. Arjen Robben, a Real Madrid castoff, came on at the start of the second half and scored twice to secure Bayern's first win of the season, 3-0 against Wolfsburg.
