UCL group stage: day one (part two)

Group E
Liverpool 1-0 Debrecen -- Dirk Kuyt scored the only goal in the 45th minute for an underwhelming home win for the Reds. The other guys were the Hungarian champs, FYI.

Lyon 1-0 Fiorentina -- Alberto Gilardino was sent off early and the French side took advantage with a 76th minute goal by Miralem Pjanic.

Group F
Inter Milan 0-0 Barcelona -- So much hype. So little excitement. Zlatan Ibrahimovc and Samuel Eto'o were no-shows in a scoreless draw. What a letdown.

Dynamo Kiev 3-1 FK Rubin Kazan -- The Ukrainian hosts scored three goals in a 15-minute span in the second half in perhaps the most convincing win of the day.

Group G
Sevilla FC 2-0 Unirea Urziceni -- Luis Fabiano continues to be a world-class striker and scored in the 45th minute. The Romanians never got a shot on goal.

VfB Stuttgart 1-1 Rangers -- Madjid Bougherra scored an equalizer in the 77th minute for the Scottish side in his Champions League debut.

Group H
Standard Liege 2-3 Arsenal -- The Belgian side took a 2-0 lead five minutes in, but the Gunners came back on the road via a 81st minute by Eduardo.

Olympiakos 1-0 AZ Alkmaar -- On the day Zico was named the team's new head coach, Vassilis Torosidis scored in the 79th minute for the Greek side's win.
