American soccer roundup

Word is the USMNT could be getting some new kits for the World Cup. Seems reasonable enough, and Avoiding the Drop has the inside scoop on the new look.

Lotta news involving Major League Soccer. Recent rumors appear to indicate Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Ricardo Clark could be own their way out of the league.

Word is the Montreal expansion bid is looking promising, and in a cool story, it's sounding like a new soccer stadium is a key issue in the Houston mayoral race.

In bad news, Paul Allen (who's got a lot of money in the league) is battling cancer, Kenny Cooper was injured in training and punishments were doled out in a prep girls soccer brawl.

Finally some links: Silent Stan Kroenke has his backing, MLS commish Don Garber confident about labor negotiations, TiAS had a chat with Lee Nguyen, and the big blogs are having a little shindig at a great Seattle bar soon.

Good times.
