UCL roundup (final 16 set)

Group E
1. Fiorentina, 2. Lyon, 3. Liverpool, 4. Debrecen
This one was all but settled before yesterday, but the Reds went and lost again, 2-1 at home to the group leaders to finish 2-3-1. The French club had the biggest result of the day, rolling into the second round with a 4-0 win.

Group F
1. Barcelona, 2. Inter Milan, 3. Rubin Kazan, 4. Dynamo Kiev
This was probably the tightest group coming into the final day. The cream definitely rose to the top. Barca capped the group win with a 2-1 win in the Ukraine, and the Italians got goals from Eto'o and Balotelli in a 2-0 victory.

Group G
1. Sevilla, 2. Stuttgart, 3. Unirea Urziceni, 4. Rangers
The group-leading Spanish side and the Germans with a new coach capped their trips to the round of 16 with big wins on Wednesday. DaMarcus Beasley started and played 45 minutes for his team, but it clearly wasn't enough.

Group H
1. Arsenal, 2. Olympiakos, 3. Standard Liege, 4. AZ Alkmaar
Both top teams had already clinched advancement, so Arsene Wenger started a Gunners kid squad over in Greece. After a 1-0 win, the Olympiakos coach criticized the EPL power for not taking the UCL seriously. Psh!
