New MLS head coaches

1. Curt Onalfo to D.C. United

Of all the recent moves, this is the only one with a familiar name. D.C. needed a move and went to ex-Wizards boss Curt Onalfo. This guy has connections all over the place with the club: he used to play for 'em back in the day and also was an assistant coach a while back.

2. N.Y. hires Hans Backe

Apparently this 57-year-old Swede has all sorts of experience, especially as an assistant. He's been like Sven Goran Eriksson's right-hand man all over the world. While foreign coaches rarely succeed in MLS, we'll see what happens.

3. Chicago lands De Los Cobos

The Fire are apparently finalizing a move for this Mexican coach named Carlos De Los Cobos. He's coached in Mexico and was recently in charge of El Salvador's national team. He's stepping into the best team probably, so he might be a guy to watch next year.
