American soccer notes

Good news for Major League Soccer as both the league and the players union agreed to extend the CBA negotiating deadline for a week and a half.

The previous CBA expires Jan. 31, and while a strike or lockout could've been in the works, both sides have agreed to talk it out until Feb. 12.

Hopefully things come to a quick and fair resolution. Cross your fingers.

Briefly, here's a good interview with Taylor Twellman. Word is some European teams are interested in Michael Bradley and Kenny Cooper looks to be on his way to the English League Championship.

It's so surprising that soccer has not been able to take firmer roots in US.
